Conference Policies

What we expect from every delegate, chair and staff member at SAMMUN'26.

1. Language

All committee sessions, working papers and resolutions are conducted in English. Documents submitted in another language will not be accepted.

2. Rules of Procedure

SAMMUN'26 uses standard MUN rules of procedure with moderated debate, unmoderated caucuses and formal voting. Chairs may adapt procedure where necessary to keep the session moving.

3. Code of Conduct

Delegates are expected to remain respectful and diplomatic at all times — in committee, in the hallways and online. Harassment, discrimination and disruptive behaviour lead to removal from the conference.

4. Attendance

Delegates must attend all committee sessions. Delegates who miss sessions without a valid reason will not be eligible for awards.

5. Dress Code

Western business attire is required during all committee sessions and official ceremonies.

6. Academic Honesty

Position papers and opening speeches must be your own work. Plagiarism — including AI-generated submissions presented as your own research — results in disqualification.

7. Photography & Media

Photographs taken during the conference may be published on our official social media accounts. Please inform the press team if you do not wish to appear.
